Tonight starts a 24 hour fast where Jewish people commemorate the destruction of the temples, and also remember other sad times in our history like the holocaust. Many people when going through really challenging times in their lives ask, why me? or how is there something out there make such horrific things happen.
I think all belief systems eventually end up in one place, a place where there is something greater than what we know, and also knowing we are on our journey, and we will have hardships, but those hardships make us appreciate the highs of life. You always hear about people who have experienced horrible things, and they end up being a voice for other people with their strength coming out on the other side to help others.
I was born in Russia, on my Russian Passport it said Jewish, it was my nationality, religion was not allowed. When my father would apply for work they would look at his passport and turn him away just because of his nationality, although he had the best education and was probably over qualified.
I admire and respect my parents so much for leaving an oppressive dead end and giving their kids a chance to have the best life. When we came to this country, the Jewish school accepted us with open arms,we did not know anything, but I feel it was a good base for me that has led me through all the adventures I embarked upon in life - so far :) and many more to come!
I am still growing in my observant ways in my amazing community that accepts and respects everywhere exactly where they are, and supports them to keep learning. However I have always been spiritually connected, I have always trusted my gut, and I have always knows and still know that everything will turn out ok, no matter how intense it is in the moment.
The only thing to fear is fear itself - right? I always joke the only thing I fear is big trucks, especially when I am driving on the highway between two. Life is always putting us in quite comical situations, my husband was a trucker for 10 years.
I think its important to learn from our mistakes, but also from our family, and ancestors, that is why our holidays are always a point of history that has impacted our lives, and we can learn from it today.
Thank God for the ups and downs of life,
It really makes us aware of how good is good,
Coach Yulia

Once you have a child you are in awe of the miracle of life, all of the science does not really explain how it all happens from nothing to something, B'H Thank you God for all 3 of my miracles. |
