What a way to start of the New Year - LOL, my whole family is super stuffy (in the physical sense, we are all very friendly and open in character :) By LA standards last night was freezing, there were a few fun parties I knew about, and I had no desire to go anywhere. Last year I was pregnant with Matisyahu, we got a babysitter, and party hopped, it was so much fun.
Last night the kids were sleeping, and we had some quality time :) so grateful to have met my other half. As all of my married friends, and those with kids in the mix, and little kids to boot, its definitely a challenge. But its what got you together that keeps you together, same vision of life, attraction to the person that they are, and a genuine good time together.
My husband and I met January 6th, 2007, and got married 8 months later. We were ready. It was right. Good Timing in both of our lives.
We had a fun time together last night, just hanging out, both of us with noses running and sinuses in our heads, still attracted, still enjoying each others company.
So this past weekend I kept the kids home, so they would feel good enough to go to school, luckily no fevers, just non stop boogers. When I get under the weather my appetite is gone, not completely, I feel hungry, but have no desire to eat anything, nothing sounds yummy. Then I see a Braeburn Apple, my taste buds were happy, I love Granny Smith, but my mom has me in the habit of peeling off the skin, I guess because it is waxed to look perfect. So its a whole process. The Braeburn still have a bit of tartness, YUM. Fruits and Vegetables are great, but do not satiate. Thank God I have my Chocolate shake with Almond Milk, I put a scoop of peanut butter, and make my own healthy peanut butter cup, and my belly is satisfied. I like to feel satisfied, not overfull, yes portions are important, but I want to feel like I ate.
I first tried the Herbalife Healthy Meal shake when I was 8 months pregnant with Ziona Sofia, if any of you know anything about the last trimester, its when the baby does the most growing, and women become ravenous. It filled me up, and at that point I knew it would fill anyone up, and with UCLA School of Human Nutrition as our partner, I knew I had found a good thing.
Just to be clear, I am an independent distributor with Herbalife, it is my own business, just like Yoga and soon to be Doula. What I love is all of these businesses go hand in hand to support all types of people in a healthy active lifestyle, whatever their stage in life may be.
Its that time of year to step it up, get a group of friends together and do a challenge, like biggest loser. Throw in a fitness class once a week, and power walks on other days, if you live in the Los Angeles area, get in touch, and I will come teach :) The best part of being a Health Coach with Herbalife is we are in 88 countries, so wherever you are, I can coach you from my home, computer, phone, or face to face, and you can do it with your friends and have some fun with it.
Even getting in shape, getting lean, building mass, eating the right foods, splurging once in a while and enjoying it, all of this should be fun. You always hear about enjoying the Journey - why not put that philosophy in your life this year.
Happy 2013!
