OY VEY!! It's raining, and my daughter is excited with her rain coat and rain boots, me not so much. They say that if you dress right for cold or rainy weather there is nothing to complain about. However, we live in Hollywood Land, and we really want our picture perfect warm sun and cool breeze, and when its even a little bit off of that, we are so confused, we forget how to drive, and we just don't feel that great.
It really makes no sense, it was hot as !@#$% a few days ago, and last night it was pouring rain. I was recently talking to someone about our demand for Hollywood Weather, and she made a good point, she said "We Pay For It!" It is so true, rents and cost of living have gone through the roof. When I moved here 12 years ago from Miami, my studio apartment right above Korea Town area was only $375! Large room with separate Full Kitchen and nice closet area leading into the bathroom.
Then yesterday someone mentioned that in New York City they pay even more, and their weather is less than friendly. Super Cold in the Winter and Super Humid in the Summer. Whatever, to each their own, I would not trade our weather for anything. I grew up in Miami, Florida, and loved that crazy humid, tropical weather. Everyone was always wearing very little and the beach was around the corner. Oh that beach, that is the only thing I miss now that I live in Los Angeles. It is just not the same, the Pacific Ocean is ALWAYS cold, even in the heat of summer in August, I remember I went all the way in and my ears froze and I got a head rush from the cold.
Miami Beaches and also in the Caribbean it is just magic, cool, refreshing, but just warm enough, heaven :) My kids only know the beach to play in the sand, hopefully this summer I can share with them my love of the ocean.
Happy Rainy Day Everyone,
Coach Yulia
